The Draugr is, for all intents and purposes, a zombie by another name. It was once a warrior, whose regrets at the time of death have driven hiim to rise again, even after death. The Draugr's appearance is that of a typical zombie: Putrid, rotting flesh of a sickly green colour; and a sword still buried in its chest. Its broken leg has nearly no flesh left at the knee, and exposes the bones underneath.
Similarly to the Lizardman, the danger with Draugr is not in its attacks, but the sheer volume of Draugr the player has to deal with. Draugr will spawn infinitely so long as the player stays within a certain area, hampering progress but also presenting a greater threat in force.
Attacks[]
Apart from its slow lurch, the main attack of the Draugr is to spontaneously sever its upper body and lunge at the player. The attack occurs a short time after the player has come within close distance of the Draugr, and can come as a surprise to players when first encountered. One method of forcing the Draugr into using the attack is to attack its lower body, at which point it will use its left-over torso immediately; however to truly and safely defeat the Draugr the player must strike them, with either spear or sword, at standing height (or overhead if using a jumping attack).
Appearances[]
The Draugr appears first in the Undead Level, then temple, then finally in Fafnir's Tower.
